Fifty is the smallest run that lets us afford the embroidery setup. It's also the largest run that keeps every piece numbered without losing meaning. Sixty would feel like a deli ticket. Forty would feel precious. Fifty feels like an army.
The arithmetic
Embroidery setup costs roughly the same whether you make 50 pieces or 500. Below 50, the per-piece cost gets brutal. Above 100, the meaning fades — and the warehouse fills up with stock we don't believe in by season's end.

When we run out, we run out. We cut the next one. Different crest, different fabric, different run. Same fifty.
